“Age comes to even the simplest imbecile who avoids death, but wisdom is not free.” – Warren Falk
In other words, avoiding death does not make a man wise, but assuming that an aged appearance implies wisdom does make a man a fool.
Wisdom is not time’s allowance to man, age is. You can expect to find age on all who have been alive a long time. If there is a book that cannot be judged by its cover it is the old man. Any randomly selected old man is as likely to be an imbecile as a sage. Gray hair has never affected the cunning of any decision.
